Out crossing is done to strengthen the immune system of the
Sphynx breed. Both CFA & TICA allow out crossing with either
Domestic short hair or the American short hair breed.
When you take one of the above mentioned breeds and cross
with a Sphynx cat. You will then get F-1 first generation out
crossed sphynx. These babies will all be coated. You take one
of the F-1 adults and breed to a sphynx. This will produce F-2
kittens, half the litter will be hairless and half will be coated.
Even the F-1 kittens although coated will have the wonderful
loving, outgoing personality of the Sphynx breed.
